Padang/Bukit Tinggi Day 1

My trip to Padang/Bukit Tinggi Indonesia.
Day 1 - 26th July 2008.

Arrive at Padang Minangkabau Airport-8.30am, Indonesia time.

Padang.

Upon arrivals, we straight ahead to Bukit Tinggi. The famous tourists area.

Our 1st destination - Lembah Anai.
The waterfall. Sesapa yg minum/cuci muka dgn air ni is believed to be 'awet muda'.
Dont bother to try pun..tipu je la suma tue....ahaha...
Its really beautiful....

This is the Rumah Gadang.

Sort of museum for the Minangkabau. Inside, they briefed us on adat2 Minang and the structure of the house itself.

One of the 4 small houses in front of the Rumah Gadang. This is called Rangkuiang (if am not mistaken).

This is where they keep their rice. So that if the house gets burned, they still have sumting on to survive. And, each of these has diff. no. of tiangs. Each has its own meanings. (malas nak elaborate lagik)

The tiang seri is built in such way ie. sendeng sikit, so that it can stand the earthquake.
With the traditional costumes costs 10k rupiah (approximate-RM3.50) Melaram la plak...

Drop at Pandai Sikek utk tengok orang menenun songket (songket weaving).

Kat sini beli shawls aje..RM10 aje...murah sih....H bought shirts for him.
Our next stop. Berpusu2 memasing beli telekung.

I bought 1 too. The 1st time ever heard about 'sulam goyang'. Wuteva u called it...but its beautiful...my troops sebok beli...gue pun follow arrr......

Stop lagik.... cuci-cuci mata...

More galore..few boutiques, lupa nak snap pics coz dah meluru terkam itu boutique.

Jam Gadang.

The famous landmark in Bukit Tinggi. Located nearby is the Pasar Atas, where ladies shop for kain2 sulam, telekong, tudung. etc..ectc..

The Pasar Atas

Shops in Pasar Atas. It is sumting like Alor Star's Pekan Rabu, or Wisma Yakin in KL.

Souvenir shirts...yg good quality, about RM15 satu, yg low quality about RM7 to RM10.
The coach, well known as 'Bendi' for the lcoals.HaAsil kutipan from Pasar Atas. Duit ku sudah hamper abes sihhhh.....huhu....
Waited for our bus till 7pm. Then dinner again with nasi Padang, of coz (frogot to snap pics, coz dah kebulur + penat)
